Professional Experience

SENSITECH INC., Beverly, MA 2021 - 2024

Qualitative Researcher: UX Researcher

Lead researcher for UX team within software engineering furthering user experience of supply chain visibility and cold chain monitoring platforms.

• Increased coding efficiency and decreased clean-up tasks by establishing user personas used across engineering, product marketing, and product management that built empathy and better-groomed engineers during sprints.

• Improved platform from below average System Usability Scale (SUS) to above average by collaborating with cross-functional teams above and coached intern to conduct end-to-end research.

• Built up user confidence levels in data acquisition and clearly indicated current device mode of operation by designing LCD screens for temperature loggers.

• Coordinated following projects:

o TempTale GEO X LCD Redesign, 2023: Designed LCD for new TempTale GEO X real-time monitoring device. Previous user testing showed that LEDs were not enough to indicate device operation.

LCD removed need to remember and interpret LED blink patterns boosting usability.

Conducted competitive analysis and design audit providing hardware engineering with LCD designs that minimized retooling and CMO revamping, resulting in at-a-glance learnability.

TempTale GEO X is in market and currently flagship real-time monitoring device for life sciences cold chain monitoring.

o Reefer Gateway Installation Field Study, 2022: Traveled to customer distribution center and observed installation of location/temperature monitoring equipment in reefers and vehicles fostering better understanding of process among designers.

Learned to install equipment, discovered pain points, and presented alternatives, working to share knowledge across software engineering, hardware engineering, product marketing, and product management.

o TempTale App Usability Testing, 2021: Led research operations testing designs for TempTale app, which allowed users to use Bluetooth Low Energy technology determining cargo temperatures without opening packaging.

Worked with life sciences product marketing recruiting participants and reviewing scripts and study design with consultants providing engineering with next steps to implement app.

App was well-received during beta and launched.

MICROSOFT CORP., Redmond, WA (Remote) 2020 - 2021

Qualitative Researcher: UX Researcher

Worked with MS Office software teams to provide relevant research for decision-making surrounding new designs and customer feature requests.

• Propelled Kanban board software forward by designing diary studies, gauging usefulness and improving usability.

• Moderated user interviews with healthcare providers across Canada, United Kingdom, and United States providing requirements for telehealth development.

MASSACHUSETTS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, Cambridge, MA 2016 - 2020

Quantitative Researcher: Technical Associate I

Constructed DNA vectors and biological circuits for elucidating expression profiles of test antibodies.

• Controllably produced antibodies in mammalian cells by partnering with other researchers troubleshooting expression procedures for making DNA plasmids and producing test antibodies.

TOWNSEND & ASSOCIATES / PFIZER INC., Andover, MA 2016

Quantitative Researcher: Analytical Scientist

Contract non-PhD researcher within Analytical Research and Development department.

• Ensured drug candidates and manufactured antibody drug conjugates met factory specs testing safety and effectiveness of products for public distribution.

AT FIRST SIGHT STUDIO, Shenzhen, China 2015

UX Strategist: Marketing Strategy Intern

Organized app launch in US on Boston Metro campuses.

• Led launch of social networking mobile app connecting users via video calls by collaborating with CEO, launch team members, and digital marketing strategists.
